This Coastal Navigation primer is a day of on water navigation practice from the seat of your sea kayak. We will use areas of Fishers Island sound that have tide to help make your current navigation and seamanship skills stronger.
Things you need to bring are chart of the area, your hand held compass, boat mounted compass and a GPS or Navionics on your phone. The waters are still cold, so it is still dry suit weather. Prepare for a full day out on the water.
Meeting location is Esker Point kayak launch. Behind the old fisherman’s restaurant on Groton Long Point Rd. Please contact us via email as to the final start location. coach@kayakwaveology.com
